FavD and I dive into the magazine stands once in a while, to pick up something we’ve never tried before. It’s like a little autodidactic adventure when we’re feeling intellectually restless.
We discovered a real beaut the other day. It surprised me with stuff I never imagined, like shampoo that comes in little sheets like dryer softener, ivy growing in a wall picture frame, and modern career advice from a courtesan, a bee keeper and a shoemaker. Not to mention dead-serious proven policy models, including an innovative answer for the Middle East peace process that just might work.
“. . .media for people who give a damn”
We see a growing number of people tied together not by age, career, background, or circumstance, but by a shared interest. This revolves around a passion for potential mixed with fierce pragmatism and creative engagement. We sum all this up as the sensibility of giving a damn. But to shorten it, let’s call it GOOD. We’re here to push this movement and cover its realization.
While so much of today’s media is taking up our space, dumbing us down, and impeding our productivity, GOOD exists to add value. Through a print magazine, feature and documentary films, original multimedia content and local events, GOOD is providing a platform for the ideas, people, and businesses that are driving change in the world.
I’m still too absorbed to put it down and blog about it yet. So read it for yourself! I recommend you get your hands on a real copy if you can. It’s big and smart and satisfying; it’s got heft in every sense of the word. (Maybe they should’ve called it Heft? Nah, I wouldn’t have picked that up in the first place, probably, sounds like a muscle magazine!) — and if you subscribe, the full amount goes to charity.

Oooh. That was a good find! Thanks for posting the link
“Fierce pragmatism and creative engagement!”
We surely must be good parents and home educators then. Hopefully “good” bloggers too . . .
