Lies Left Lying Around

I’ve engaged a well-informed and passionate partisan in civil conversation about the corrosive power of public lies (does “lie” share a root with “lye” I wonder?) and you’re welcome to read along or join in the Culture Kitchen Cooking –I’m sure there’s something that needs chopping or stirring!

I’ve posted two brief comments at the CK link above but I don’t see them. Maybe I posted wrong somehow?

At any rate, my point was that “pride goeth before a fall” and that’s one of the things that is so darned annoying about the Foley scandal. The very people beating us all over the head with their self-righteousness and telling they know best how to control our most personal decisions, of course, being only human, stumble and reveal that, no surprise to anyone, they are no better than the rest of us.

And that’s what I wanted to warn the CK writer against. . . but I can’t figure out how to post there today so I’ll post it here.

Well put imo. Hope you get a chance to “put it there.” 🙂
