She’d Better Just Be Shooting Off Her MOUTH

Did you hear — can you believe — what she’s said now?

Her latest rationale for staying in the race is that Obama could always be assassinated like Bobby Kennedy was in the summer leading to the convention, and then she would “win” after all . . .

Keith Olbermann’s special commentary on MSNBC that I just watched:

The politics of this nation is steeped enough in blood, Senator Clinton, you cannot and must not invoke that imagery! Anywhere! At any time!

And to not appreciate, immediately – to still not appreciate tonight – just what you have done… is to reveal an incomprehension of the America you seek to lead.

This, Senator, is too much.

Because a senator – a politician – a person – who can let hang in mid-air the prospect that she might just be sticking around in part, just in case the other guy gets shot – has no business being, and no capacity to be, the President of the United States.

Wow. Cold that chills the spine.

Liza at Culture Kitchen also says it makes her “Shameless. Despicable. Unfit to be President Of The United States. ”

She goes on:

This after a long string of gaffes, innuendos and outright racist attacks that too many people in media decided to let pass and still give her the benefit of the doubt, since many were coming from her own surrogates and even her husband. . .Are you telling me this is not a shamelessly opportunistic moment of wishful thinking?

It is despicable and not only does it not have any place in this campaign. It has no place near the White House.

Hillary Clinton has demonstrated she is unfit to be President of the United States.

As I have written here before, Hillary Clinton was the mastermind behind her husband’s white supremacist strategy during his years as governor of Arkansas —-it’s the reason why she hired Dick Morris, spin master for white supremacist Jesse Helms.

This is nothing new in her life or her way at waging her political wars. . .

She is claiming that it was a mistake made because lately she’s had so much on her mind, like Sen. Edward Kennedy’s recent cancer diagnosis… BUT,… I just saw that she made the same comment (almost verbatim) back in March.

And if we accept that tired damsel-in-distress excuse, then it kills the whole “3 am phone call, ready on Day One, so tough I should be commander in chief” campaign, and she’s disqualified herself THAT way.

Nance Confer

She does look tired but it’s not very feminist of her to hide behind that as a excuse for an unforgivably stupid remark.

And to mention something else unmentionable — assassination is now an equal opportunity political weapon, not just a boys club anymore. Senators running for president male or female are “equally” vulnerable these days and you’d think would take it equally personally . . .

Jon Meacham on Meet the Press today: “it’s not that she wishes him bodily harm, it’s that she’s counting on cataclysm.”

Liza at Culture Kitchen, on the eve of the Dems rejiggering their vote-counting rules, talking about what really counts:

What people don’t get is how deep the wounds of political and social violence run in this country. To have people like Hillary Clinton dismiss political assassination as part of the game of power, while people like the Obamas doing interventions on the campaign trail … it just goes to show how profoundly different Barack and his whole campaign is from the rest of the Democratic party.
