Go Gators! My husband went out and got a HUGE flat screen HDTV to watch the game on (because, you know, the big rear projection one he bought to watch the 1996 championship game just wasn’t good enough anymore). He’s a nut.

No wait, it was the 1996 Gator vs. Seminole game in November.

You are the Champions!! I thought of you and Nance today when Morning Joe was casting aspersions on Tim Tebow’s ego. 🙂

Morning Joe IS pretty full of himself, isn’t he? Stunningly simplistic, I think is how it was put recently. 🙂
And Nance though a Floridian, doesn’t know football from surfing, near as I can tell . . .

But *I* enjoyed the game most thoroughly and whistled and yelled at those doltish ACC referees, and actually smiled at Tebow the Magnificent being called for (gasp!) his first-ever unsportsmanlike penalty.

What’s Next for the Gators?

If a handful of juniors return to Florida for the 2009 season, the Gators might be capable of doing what the school’s basketball team recently did — win back-to-back national championships.

Billy Donovan was there at the Game, saw a photo of him with Mrs. Meyer in the aftermath. Maybe he’ll be a visible reminder — since we didn’t lose HIM to the pros! — of how worth it that extra dream year was for Noah and all?

Yes! That is it! Stunningly simplistic describes what I think of him so accurately I wish I had thought of it! I like the guests they have, but wow…Joe Scarborough. I think he thinks he’s speaking for the everyday American, but..the problem with that is that his idea of what constitutes an ordinary American is set in the 1950’s 🙂

DH is pondering which move would be better for whom.

If Tebow stays, that’s better for the Gators.

If he leaves for the NFL, that may be better for him.

So whose interest should be put first?

Nance — yes, I know nothing about football so consider this as coming from DH 🙂

DH asks further:

Since he is Tebow the Magnificent, and in the running with Obama for the Second Coming, which serves humanity more — his staying with the Gators or his going pro?

Nance

P.S. Full Disclosure: DH is an FSU fan.

LOL – see, the scripts we have in our own minds do color the power of story we see in events. AS a Gator fan, I look at FSU and see that Saint Bobby has overstayed his “better for the team” by a couple of years already to serve better for him personally . . .

The UF championship basketball team returning for another year and repeating as champs, THEN going pro, might be instructive as we weigh it all out. Maybe it really can be win-win again. And vice versa Steve Spurrier leaving us for the pros and winding up a loser at a lesser SEC school he can’t seem to turn around. He shoulda stayed with us forever!
(Also our two other Heisman quarterbacks never hit it big in the pros anyway.)

But apparently it doesn’t matter what any of us may think about Tebow’s big choice, because prayer (and heart) will send the best answer. So Coach Meyer has already stated publicly that he has complete confidence whatever Tebow decides will be “best” for everyone involved, and that’s that. 🙂

OK, he’s naming all these names now. . . let’s see if I can transcribe . . .

“Touche! Food for thought! 🙂

Bowden or Joe Paterno — vying for role of Methuselah.

Steve Spurrier — another Napoleon, ego to match and biggest loser since Waterloo.

Myer — wisdom of Solomon or patience of Job?

Harvin — Nike or Mercury?

Tebow — God or the son of God?”

His thoughts as he’s watching the Steelers decimate the Chargers.

Apparently it’s all in the hands of one god or another. 🙂

Your DH and I would have a good time talking college football . . . 😀

Harvin does run like the wind (great god allusions) and Methuselah IS who Bowden and Paterno were created in the image of. At least Bowden hasn’t broken a hip yet.

I didn’t know until the other day, though, that Meyer is Catholic. Somehow I had him associated with Utah whence he came, thus Mormons, hmmm, doesn’t seem to make much difference to anything on the field so I just never thought about it.
