OOBama: International Man of History.
You just gotta love Jon Stewart. 😀

Wait, or is he really SUPERMAN disguised as James Bond?!

I love having a Prez who doesn’t embarrass us when he goes out.

But what about this business: http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2009/4/8/717729/-Olbermann-Smacks-Down-Obamas-Loss-of-Credibility

Darn, we were as usual on Tuesday, “watching the Fat People” (Biggest Loser) and then I played back the American Idol performances, then watched Stewart and blogged OOBama live.

And went to bed, without seeing my recorded-in-waiting Olbermann and Maddow. So the one night I don’t have a clue . . .

Nance, check this out too, by Alec Baldwin at HuffPo re: Keith and Rachel needing to be supplemented (not supplanted) by the NYT.

We’re both Watergate-era journalists here of course, so what do you expect? — I agree with him right down the line. I like Keith and Rachel but they do have partisan blind spots and excesses, and DH and I went back to reading the Times in dead-tree, real carry-around form every day more than a year ago (and now Favorite Daughter reads it most days too) DESPITE Valerie Plame and her ego-inflated, fame-seeking husband, the too clever by half Judith Miller and the pathetic Jayson Blair.

The Times, like many other important journals, is not perfect. Sometimes its writing and its priorities are downright awful. But that is rare.

I still think people should read a newspaper every day and that children should be taught the importance of doing so in school. Television news can be good. It just isn’t as good as the New York Times. And now more than ever.

They have the Times free daily, for the college kids on campus here, which is cool imo. So some days we have to put out TWO dead-tree versions in the recycling . . .

Free New York Times? That is cool!

We always get two papers — DH cannot start his day without his newspapers and now DD has started reading the papers.

We haven’t had a newspaper in the house in years.

Chris, as an online action figure you’re just ahead of your time. Newspapers as actual ‘paper” may not last much longer for any of us, sigh.

One of my new-favorite things in the NYT is Tuesday’s Science Times. All kinds of relelvant science news you can use, for science thinking with the kids and my own personal decision-making, too. This week I read that the annual Pap smear is obsolescing and a few weeks before, that annual mammograms are on the way out.
